I like.. good food and I cannot lie! Those other babies can't deny!

It's been a long time since this thing's been updated since my parents never get around to do it because they are too busy changing my diaper, taking me to the allergist (will explain later), and of course, giving me their undivided attention. I thought I'd give them a break, show off my skills, and write my entry myself, Doogie Howser style.

The name is... Morales, Grayson Morales. Come tomorrow, I will be EIGHT months old! I hope I get a surprise birthday party...with cake and ice cream. I'll settle for chicken, rice, and beans also-can't be too picky. My parents have been letting me try all new kinds of food lately! Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy my bottled baby food, but this new real stuff is really good! I've had yummy creamy chicken and barley soup with some bread, guacamole, beans, rice, and so much more! I get so excited when my mommy and daddy feed me this that I sometimes forget to swallow! Now that I'm teething, eating this "grown up" food is much easier and fun. I can't wait until the rest of my teeth come in.

Speaking of teething, my teething may be the reason for my constant red cheeks. It may be caused by certain foods also, but we don't know yet. They tried not giving me certain foods to eat as part of a trial and error (they deprived me of the food I love, yummy peaches!), but we just don't know. My mommy took me to the allergist last week, and the doctor stuck this really big needle in my arm. The tests came back negative though (Say what?!), so yay, I guess I'm really not allergic to anything. My cheeks, on the other hand, still act up and turn very red and flaky. Maybe it's just eczema (Thanks Julie Masi!), or maybe it's the weather. I've heard that many fellow babies get the same symptoms when teething so let's hope it's just that. I'm too cute and lovable to have constant red cheeks. No one will want to pinch them when I'm a bit older... hmm, maybe that's a good thing, come to think of it.

As you all know, I attend daycare. Well, I'm in the next grade now, the older infant/young toddler room! Whoop whoop! This is where I'll be until I can walk and run really well. So, what do I do in this new room? Well, most of the same stuff. I play, I nap, I go on the floor. They want me to drink out of this new cup though.. a sippy cup I believe they call it. Eh, I'll start to give it a try. I can also sit up all by myself now, which means I can sit in a high chair, which means my parents can take me out to restaurants all the time now! I'm also slowly learning to crawl. I try to do it, but eh, I think I just get lazy. But when I see my toy, I shimmy my way over to it.

With great age also comes great responsibility. My Julie Masi recently got married and I was given the honor of being the Ring Bearer!! It was my first wedding so I wanted to make sure I made a great impression. My Nani Ba wanted me to wear this Krishna Bhagavan outfit as my daddy pushed me down the aisle. I was so cute that the guests actually applauded for me!

I also attended my Bantu Masi's Rutgers graduation last week. To celebrate, I wore a Rutgers t-shirt she gave me the day I was born. How appropriate.

Oh yeah, I keep telling my mom I shoud get my own Facebook so I can keep in touch with my daycare posse. If she doesn't make me one, I'm just going to make it myself when she's not looking. I've already been on daddy's computer before in his office, so I know my way around a keyboard and mouse!

Okay, well it's nearly 8pm and yawn, it's my bed time, so until next time, this is Doogie Grayson signing off.

P.S. Here are some pictures of me

15 things about Grayson

1. My full name is Grayson Sawyer Morales. My parents liked the name. No, it has nothing to do with the original Robin (Dick Grayson) or anything else, and Sawyer is just a nice name, not related to Lost or Tom Sawyer.

2. I was supposed to be born on October 12 but I was in a big hurry to see the world and came on Sept 30 at 5:22 in the morning. This was all part of the master plan. See, my Nani Ba (mommy's mommy) predicted that I would be born on this day since that was the first day of Navrati.

3. I think my Nani Ba loves me the most out of everyone. I know my mommy and daddy, other set of grandparents and aunts all love me a whole lot but see, I'm the boy that my Nani Ba never had. Somehow having a 3 part pee pee makes me very special to her. This is great news for me though cuz then I just get extra spoiled!

4. I am now the proud owner of 2 little baby teeth!! They're not in all the way yet but you can definitely see and feel them. Slowly but surely, the bottom half of the teeth will come in. To celebrate, my mommy created a song...you sing it like its half Garba/Rass and half Bhangra. There's even a dance to it. You'll have to come over if you want to know the words.

5. I can almost sit all by myself. I spend a lot of time either sitting in the Bumbro seat at school or in my U at home. This way I have a little bit of support. I sometimes still topple over to the side though. But I'm getting there!

6. I don't usually like tummy time but I can shift a little when I'm on tummy time. It's almost like crawling since there is movement. Soon I'll understand that I should lift up my knees too and then watch out, there's no stopping me.

7. I love my Exersaucer. Where else can you just spin in a circle and have a whole array of toys to play with. I'm on the highest setting in the exersaucer now too. Not sure what I do when I get taller.

8. I've almost outgrown my bouncy chair. Check out my picture below to see how little I was. Now, I'm much bigger. My feet are actually hanging off and my head is just about at the top. Good times in that bouncy chair.

9. I've grown up on Food Network. My mom used to watch it all the time when I was really little. Now I spend a lot of time watching that and CSI. Spike TV is the new favorite in this house.

10. I moved into my own room when I was 3 months old. I slept like a baby in there. It was great, all soft blue light and fishes. Can't beat that. Soon I'll be old enough to play in there too.

11. Though it hasn't been confirmed yet, my Dr. thinks I'm allergic to milk. Yup, milk. My face has recently broken out in Eczema and got infected so now I'm drinking the most super duper expensive milk out there. Hey, I have expensive taste. And when people talk about making sacrifices for your children, this is what they were talking about. Spending $10 a day on my formula.

12. Now let's talk about everyone's favorite topic--poop. My poop has changed texture and color and frequency many times since I was born. It is currently a dark green and smells, badly. It's bad enough that it even bothers me. Up until now, I never really cared when I pooped. I was perfectly content to sit in there for a while. Now, I need to be changed, right away. I try to help out my parents though and poop mainly at day care.

13. Speaking of day care, I absolutely love it there. I started when I was a mere 14 weeks old, and now at almost 26 weeks, I'm an old pro. Miss Phyllis and Miss Tricia are really nice. And I have my first girlfriend. Nadia. She's a week younger than me.

14. I don't roll over yet but I'm getting there. I don't really see the point in doing that. I'd rather spend the time doing mini crunches and working out my ab muscles so I can sit up all by myself. Instead now if I'm on my back or my stomach, I rock and shimmy to get where I want to instead of rolling all the way over.

15. I LOVE fruits and vegetables. Apples, bananas, pears, peaches, prunes, green beans, peas, carrots, sweet potatos and butternut squash. LOVE them! I even ate the entire bottle of Whole wheat pasta and tomato sauce, hearty vegetable soup and creamy chicken noodle. Food is so good. Who needs milk, I'd rather eat all of these great things.

And now to all of my facebook "friends" (or my mom's friends anyway), add in your own comments about me and what else I might have forgotten to mention.

Grayson says Happy St. Patrick's Day

Hi there folks, I promise to come back and post an actual entry about what's been happening with Gray but in the meantime, here are about 2 week's worth of pictures. There's a lot but they're all so cute and we couldn't decide which ones to post...so we posted them all.

Gray's 21 week pics!

Gray 19 and 20 weeks old

The more time passes with our little man, the more it feels like time is zooming by. We really wanted to have new pics up every week, but it is really tough. I know that nobody but us is putting pressure on us to keep up that sort of pace, but for us it's really just trying to keep an ongoing account for our own memories later on. I think we may need to employ his aunt Bindiya more often as ghost writer of this blog, lol.

So, Gray is filling out and growing great. I (Eugene) took him in for his latest rounds of shots last Thursday, and he handled all 4 like a champ. He is now 26" tall, which puts him in the 75th percentile, and his weight is now 15 lbs, 8 oz, which puts him at the 50th percentile for his age. This is a bit of a relief because last time we had him measured he had come up on the lower percentiles, even though we had seen him spurt faster in the the earlier months. I suppose it'll keep varying, but it's nice to see our tall boy filling out his bouncy chair and exersaucer. I've even had to adjust the saucer to its highest setting so that he's not in there flat-footed, and Gray seems to be enjoying it just fine. He's noticing more features, pulling on things above him, recognizing bit by bit that what he's doing is producing all those noises and music around him.

The two big challenges now are feeding him cereals and giving him tummy practice so that he can eventually roll over. The second one is coming along better at this point. Gray can't roll yet, but he's starting to do that see-saw rocking if he's on his tummy long enough. So, we think it's coming, and lately I've taken to lying down right with him to model for him how he should rock farther (like a good teacher, right? lol). As for cereals, when Gray first tried rice cereal, he seemed really gung ho about it. We posted pics of him guiding mom's spoon hand eagerly to his mouth, but now, he doesn't seem too enthusiastic. He grimaces if you try to feed him oatmeal, but at least daycare seems to be successful with small amounts of rice. We'll probably move to fruits and veggies soon to vary up the approach, and then hope he takes to cereal later.

Hopefully this coming week we'll be more on track with pics, but I know that mommy dear is always on twitter and facebook, so I know all of Gray's fanclub is getting plenty of information, haha. I'm going to try and just shoot him more with the camcorder, since that's why we bought it, right? Some more clips of him on his tummy and hanging out will be coming soon, so stay tuned!

Gray from the eye of an outsider

Long time no post. As a faithful reader of the blog, I have taken it upon myself to post an entry for the time-lacking parents of Grayson Sawyer. They are busy taking snot out of baby Gray’s nose and taking videos and pictures of him that no one will ever see because they neglect to post them on the blog.

Grayson is now 4 months old. *Counts on fingers* Yeah, four months. Actually, 18 weeks and some odd days. He is a great big ball of energy. He caught a cold a few weeks ago from daycare (and graciously passed his germs onto his mommy so she could share the experience of sickness with him), but this cold is only going to build up his immune system so when he enters karate, soccer, baseball, football, and culinary school under the direction of Chef Gordon Ramsey, he’ll be able to handle all the germs he’ll come in contact with.

During the day, Gray enjoys a posh five-star living arrangement at daycare where he has one-to-one contact with his daycare teacher. Plentiful toys and attention that every little boy requires. When he gets home, he’s lively and a riot. Check the below videos to see how much Gray is learning at daycare. He is now able to sit up completely in his Exer-saucer and make beautiful music with the multitude of buttons and knobs this seat/toy provides. He is a Mozart in training. Gray also responds completely to the calling of his name. As first, he was like.. “Wait, do you need a crayon? The box is over there” but now he realizes that we are calling him and will give us his full attention. Not to mention, he takes after his Bantu Masi and poses for any camera that is in sight. Baby modeling is in his near future. Who wouldn’t pay to see his face on a magazine cover?

However, taking after his Julie Masi, we don’t know how well his modeling career will take off as every night Gray purposely sabotages his chances of becoming a superbabymodel. Randomly, scratch marks will appear on his face. Poor baby scratches himself in his sleep on occasion but once we get past this scratching phase, Modern Baby Weekly will be in his future.

Gray’s been dabbling in the world of cereal. Next up is Kix; Kid tested, mother approved. Before long, he’ll be eating chicken and rice and fighting with his daddy for some baby back ribs.

All in all, Gray is growing very nicely. Very happy, very smiley, and loves living large.

Next week, tune in as Gray joins the bandwagon and gets his own Facebook!
